At GME Group we are very customer focussed and firmly believe in always trying to keep our customers happy & satisfied at all times.
We also understand that this may not always be possible Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5pm, which is why we offer a 24-hour call-out service to accommodate for all types of ‘Emergencies’.
If you have one of the following emergencies out of normal office hours then call us on 07983 879465. This will then go through to our emergency line.
The types of emergency call-outs in East Sussex, that we would categorise into the 24-hour call out service would be as follows:
Due to the cold weather, pipes are freezing up and then bursting. Poor workmanship or homeowner DIY cause leaks due to fitting & materials not being installed correctly. In the winter, pipes are hotter as they are in use more and therefore get put under more pressure – causing leaks.
If a customer was to call GME Group out on an emergency call out. we would attend the job and assess the leak or issue first of all. We would then turn off the water if the job was too big to be starting at that time of the day or night. However, if it was something that was fairly quick & easy to fix, we would do it there and then. One of the reasons that we would suggest to the customer to simply turn off the water at that time and come back in the morning is that it will cost the customer more money if we were to stay there after hours and work. This would cost the customer double time!
If a customer was to call GME Group Ltd out on an emergency, out of hours call out, we would attend the job and turn the gas off. We would then assess the leak or issue. If it is something that is fairly quick & easy to fix, we will do it there and then. One of the reasons that we would suggest to the customer to simply turn off the gas at that time and come back in the morning is that it will cost the customer more money if we were to stay there after hours and work.
A lot more use of the boiler due to the cold weather change, hence more chance of it going wrong with high usage and also not been used for some time after the summer months.
With boiler breakdowns, it is fairly unlikely that someone will actually call out of hours for this as they normally wait until the morning. However, if they were to call and ask for one of our heating engineers to fix the boiler then we would of course attend.
We will always try to assess and fix on-site, however as the job in hand will be out of hours there may be parts/fittings that are needed for the boiler that will not be available from the merchants until they re-open in the morning. Some even have to be ordered direct from the boiler manufacturer which will take a day or maybe more to arrive.
All other forms of work such as fitting new bathrooms, kitchens, tiling and quotes would not be considered an emergency and would always be undertaken between the hours of 8.00 am to 17.30 pm.
